Sir Henry Clinton's army, twelve miles of wagons and the finest infantry in North America, is marching
across New Jersey for Sandy Hook. At the council of war, General Lee counseled building the enemy a bridge
of gold out of the state and letting them go. Washington chose instead to strike. The mercury will pass
ninety degrees before noon. Before this Sunday ends, heat will kill nearly as many men as lead.

Original schematic map drawn for this simulation from the routes documented in Lender and Stone, chapters 5 to 8. Clinton's army marched roughly 67 miles from the Delaware to Monmouth Court House; at Allentown he chose the eastward road to Sandy Hook over the Raritan crossings.
